At the Chapel Hill Mall in Akron, Ohio, five Cooper Superior dual-fuel engine-generator sets have been in continuous-duty service since 1967. The units meet peak demands of 4,500 kW of electrical power while heat from the engines, which would otherwise be wasted, is used for heating and cooling.
