Comfort Link

Comfort Link was formed as a General Partnership between Baltimore Gas and Electric and Monumental Investment Corporation, the parent company of The Poole and Kent Corporation on May 24, 1995.

As a general partnership between one of the nation's best run utilities and one of the largest mechanical contractors, Comfort Link introduces the perfect blend of efficient technology and economic ingenuity to provide District Cooling and Heating to the downtown Baltimore Business District.

Comfort Link has installed its first Cooling Plant in the soon to be completed renovation to the Baltimore Convention Center. We are currently providing chilled water to that facility. We will pipe from that plant to other downtown office buildings to meet our first set of contracts to provide central cooling for the 1997 cooling season.

We will also pipe directly to the Hamburgers Plant to be built and running prior to the cooling season of 1997. These interconected plants will utilize Ice storage technology to take advantage of off peak rates. This technology coupled with economies of scale will be the driving forcce to assist our customers to avoid large capital investments a well as eliminate CFC concerns.

The Hamburgers Plant will also house a new heat generating facility to be operative for the 1997 fall heating.

We our excited along with our customers about the impact we have already made in the city.
