The development of district heating at first went on simultaneously with the building of new residential neighbourhoods therefore all buildings in the following residential places are connected to the district heating system: Nove Fuzine, Stepanjsko naselje, Stozice, Nove Jarse, Siska, BS-7-Jezica, Nove Dravlje, Rapova jama, Zupanciceva jama.
At the same time large boiler houses supplying the flats in Savsko naselje, Na jami, Hubadova, Streliska, Saranoviceva were connected to this system. Lately, with not so many new buildings being built, especially old blocks of flats are connected to the system. These flats did not have central heating. These locations are: Vodmat, Savsko naselje, blocks of flats of the Litostroj company, individual buildings in the city centre, etc.
