The district heat supply system is well established in Ljubljana, so almost all new buildings that are built on the territory where this system is foreseen are connected to it. Together with the connection of new buildings and the extension of hot-water and steam networks, almost all large boiler houses and a great number of large residential, industrial, business, public and other buildings, that did not used to have central heating, were connected to the system.
The increase of connected heat loads from the beginnings of district heating till today is best shown by the quick development of district heating supply system.
