Nordvärme

District Heating in the Nordic Countries

Nordvärme, which was established in 1976, is a cooperative body for Nordic district heating associations.

We deal with fundamental technical, economic, marketing and environmental issues in the field of district heating.

Every other year, we arrange an inter-Nordic symposium on district heating.

We issue bulletins on statistics, fuel prices, research projects and other matters of common interest to the members of this association.

We prepare joint public relations materials, of which this publications is an example.

Whenever necessary, we appoint our own working committees for undertaking special studies into different subject areas.

Since district heating is very widespread in the Nordic countries, and since it is based on totally different circumstances prevailing in the various countries, we have now accumulated a unique stock of expertise in the field of district heating.

We use this expertise to promote the development of district heating in the Nordic countries. And we also use it to assist countries in other parts of the world in reaping the benefits of district heating.
