Invitation
We are pleased to invite you to the International Symposium on
District Heating and Cooling Simulation '97
The District Heating Programme within the Nordic Research Cooperation was organized in 1985 by the Nordic Council of Ministers. The programme is led by the Nordic Energy Research Committee. A Scientific Council, which has memberships from all the Nordic Countries, is responsible fpr the activities within the programme. Five International Symposia have been organized every second year since 1987 by the Nordic District Heating Programme. The first one was District Heat Metering in Lund, Sweden 1987. District Heating Simulation was arranged in Reykjavik in 1989, Fluids for District Heating in Copenhagen 1991 and the 4th symposium on Heat Metering was in Trondheim, Norway 1993 and the 5th on Automation of District Heating Systems in Espoo, Finland 1995. The 6th Symposium on District Heating and Cooling Simulation will take place at the University of Iceland in Reykjavik, Iceland 1997.
Simulation is a very important tool in the design and study of the behaviour of every system, that includes district heating and cooling systems. A lot of work has been done in the district heating field, as shown in the symposium here in Reykjavik in 1989 and a lot of interesting work has been done since then. On the other hand, simulation studies in the district cooling field are not as common the the Nordic Countries, but the increasing interest in the subject has lead the thinking to carry-over of the results achieved from the district heating field.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Reykjavik in August 1997.
