The third annual conference and trade show of
CDEA - ACRT will be held in Montreal (The Queen Elizabeth
Hotel) early in November 97. The preliminary program includes
the following events:
Wednesday November the 5th (pre-conference): 3 industrial
technical tours:
- Pratt & Whitney (cogen turbines)
- Volcano (boilers), Bouilloires
Rive-sud (boilers)
- Molson (thermal and ammonia cooling plant)
Thursday November the 6th & Friday November the 7 th 1997:
conference and trade show
- addresses and speeches by officials from municipal,
provincial and federal governments
- overview of new district energy
projects in Canada
- district energy industry development
abroad (USA, Europe)
- 2 parallel workshops (preventive
maintenance, flame detection, expansion joints, emergency management
procedures)
- 4 technical papers (opportunities
to increase revenues by incorporating hot water distribution into
your traditional steam distribution network by Urecon Ltd,
economic optimization of low temperature thermal energy distribution
systems by Canmet, a DH building heating system design
handbook using a spreadsheet data base derived from hourly simulation
par Canmet, compared efficiency of a district energy system
and a set of individual decentralized systems for the same
set of buildings downtown Montreal by Ecole de Technologie
Supérieure)
- tour the Olympic Stadium and
Biodome thermal plants and technical rooms (plus tour of the
