The Canadian District Energy Association (CDEA) was formed in 1994 to promote district
energy in Canada. We'll be adding more information here in the near future, so visit often!

Conferences and Meetings:
The CDEA holds an annual conference each year. The 1995 conference was held in Cornwall,
March 26-28, 1995, the 1996 conference in Toronto on September 15-17, 1996.
You are invited to join and support the goals of the Canadian District Energy Association. Five
classes of membership are available:
Utility Member - Individuals, firms, or corporations who own, lease or manage district
heating or cooling businesses utilized or available for utilization for mercantile or business
purposes are eligible for Utility Membership.
Institutional Member - Managers or superintendents or district heating or cooling systems
owned or operated for or on behalf of the Government of Canada, the Provinces or any
municipality or agency thereof are eligible for Institutional Membership.
Allied/Professional Member - Representatives of individuals, firms, or corporations who
supply goods and services to the district heating and cooling or associated co-generation
industry and Lawyers, Accounts, Bankers, Architects, Engineers and other professionals
interested in the district heating and cooling or associated co-generation operation and
maintenance industry.
Associate Member - An associate member shall not have any voting rights. Neither shall they
be able to hold any office of the Association or be a member of the Board of Directors. They
shall receive all information provided to the general membership.
Additional Member - Any member except a Life Member may nominate up to five individuals
from its firm or corporation as Additional Members.
