Robert S.
Bishop

1831-1896

Robert Smithson Bishop was born in Paris, Oneida County, New York, 22 November 1831 and practiced as physician in Medina, New York.

He became president of the American District Steam Company on March 1, 1886.

Bishop was responsible for many of the early district heating systems installed in the US, particularly several in Pennsylvania.

He died in Lockport Dec. 31, 1896.
