Charles Robert Bishop

Secretary and general manager of the American District Steam Company, Lockport, was born at Medina, N. Y., March 28, 1867, a son of Robert S., physician and surgeon, and Mary Louise (Hutchins) Bishop. He was graduated from the Medina Free Academy in 1885, and was in the manufacturing business at Rockford, Ill., from 1885 to 1889. He then removed to Lockport, N. Y., where he commenced the practice of civil, steam and electrical engineering, and up to 1897 was in charge of engineering and construction work in various parts of the country. In 1897 he was elected secretary and general manager of the American District Steam Company, of Lockport. Mr. Bishop is president of the Economy Light, Fuel and Power Company, and of the American Motor Truck Company, both of Lockport. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Heating and Ventilating Engineers, and of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. He is connected with various local clubs, is a member of the Buffalo Automobile Club, and of Lockport Lodge No. 41, B. P. O. E. He is a trustee of the First Presbyterian Church of Lockport. On February 7, 1895 he married Frances C. Guild, daughter of C. S. Guild, of Lockport. They have three sons: Donald Guild, Robert Charles and Alan Francis. Mr. Bishop's home is at 413 Locust Street, Lockport.
